Lakes, waterfalls, swimming pools, mountain peaks, alpine huts... there are plenty of them in the Southern Black Forest. Of course you have to see them during a visit to our wellness hotel in the Southern Black Forest! We have put together a list of some of the most important and beautiful ones for you here.
Lake Titisee is located about 20 km from the Grüner Baum and is a popular destination for strolling, swimming and boating or pedal boating. The Titisee owes its formation to the Feldberg glacier. Nestled in the Feldberg scenery, it is an absolute jewel of the Black Forest. On the north shore is the spa town of Titisee-Neustadt with the famous Hochfirst ski jump. The surrounding Black Forest towns of Hinterzarten, Breitnau, Saig and Lenzkirch are interesting to discover.
The big brother of the Titisee, the "Schluchsee", is also about 20 km away from the Grüner Baum. Here, water sports in all facets, such as wind surfing, fishing, sailing or diving are the order of the day. It is the largest lake in the Black Forest.
The Todtnau waterfall is only 5 km away and, at 97 metres, the highest natural waterfall in Germany. Hike directly from the hotel via the Todtnauberger Hochtal to the waterfall or via the Wasserfallsteig to the Fahler waterfall.
Visit the Keidel thermal baths on the outskirts of Freiburg and leave the grey everyday life behind you. With around 6000m² of wellness space and a restaurant, the Keidel offers optimal conditions to relax and keep fit.
Visit the Titisee bathing paradise. There is something for young and old here: Slide in the Galaxy with maximum fun, relax in the Palm Oasis like in the Caribbean or enjoy the unique sauna landscape in the Wellness Oasis.
Freiburg's local mountain is 1284m high and is a popular destination for hikers. Hike to the Schauinsland tower, visit the mining museum, the Schniderlihof or take the Downinsland down into the valley.
At 1493m, the Feldberg is Germany's highest mountain outside the Alps. Hike along the idyllic panoramic paths to the Feldsee lake and the House of Nature.
Hike from the Almgasthaus Knöpflesbrunnen along beautiful panoramic paths towards Todtnau. Enjoy views of the nearby Felberg or, on a clear day, even as far as the Swiss Alps.
Hike from the Hasenhorn to the Gisiboden-Alm, which is situated at 1183 metres above sea level and offers refreshments. You can reach the Hasenhorn with a cosy 2-person chairlift or on the Zauberberg children's adventure trail.
